This would be perfect for the C4.R Build I want to do...
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
It is just nice enough to drive around a bit and find out how I’d like to build it, then pull it apart. I’d sell off all the pieces I wouldn’t use (70% of the car) and then that’d help build the car up. Then around $8k will buy you the entire ZR1 LT5, trans, computer, everything to put in it.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The plan would be to make a period corrects late 90's Le Mans racer that would also be street legal. Obviously all smog equipment and such would be gone, so plates wouldn’t be from CA, but that’s something to work out later.
The only thing that I would want really modern would be brakes, cause duh. And maybe also suspension cause why not, but then again that’d ruin the period correct feel of 90s!!
Because race car.

That front end doesn’t have a single crease. The rear is only a crease.

No, an LT5 C4.R
Made like Pratt & Miller made the
C5.R
C6.R
C7.R
So it would be a period correct Corvette Le Mans car as if they had started with the C4 ZR1

Lol I know, but I am not putting a LT5 in a C7, which you said.
It’ll still be a C4. Just an inspiration race car.

On a serious note I remember seeing at the corvette museum a zr1 powered imsa c4 vette. So c4r did sort of exist.

Sort of, there were LeMans and GT1 type C4s. It happened, just not P&R .R car.

That’s a serious project, but I’d like to see the results.

Well unless someone drops off a briefcase of money to me, I have not the funds at the moment to even buy the C4. Let alone make the car.
Also trying to get a place with a garage.

Me too. Can’t wait to start.
I had previously wanted to make a C6.R clone, but I think creating a C4.R would be much more fun!

As an aside, I’m not sure why I never thought about the LT5 as an engine swap.
I immediately thought it would be interesting to swap an LT5 into a 3rd gen Camaro. Turns out its been done already...
